Destination UF

Destination UF is an off-campus welcome reception hosted in many different cities throughout the nation to provide newly admitted freshman students and their family members an opportunity to learn more about The Gator Nation and the academic enrichment we have to offer. FAQ

As much as we would like to have more of the newly admitted Gator family attend, due to space limitations, we can only accommodate one student and one family member.

While Destination UF is especially suited for newly admitted freshmen who have not yet committed to UF, it is not a mandatory event. The University Admissions Team values the opportunity to visit with new Gators who may not be able to travel to our campus prior to making the final decision by May 1.

Both of these events for newly admitted freshmen provide opportunities for you to connect with The Gator Nation before making your final college decision. Florida Days is held on the UF campus in Gainesville and allows students and families to connect with resources on campus. Destination UF is a welcome reception that is located in specific cities throughout the United States. Destination UF will provide information about UF campus resources and connect you to UF alumni and families within a city near you.

These events are not mandatory events. We strongly encourage you to select the event that is most convenient for you and your family. So that we may accommodate as many future Gators as possible, please select only one event. Space is limited, so register early.

Yes, there are. Here are some other opportunities for you to visit our campus and see what The Gator Nation has to offer.

  1. General Campus Tour
  2. Discover Innovation Academy
  3. College of Engineering
  4. Honors Program: Afternoon with Honors

Preview is your introduction to UF and is a mandatory two-day orientation for students and is highly encouraged for family members. During Preview, you will learn about UF resources, receive academic advising, and register for classes. This program will start during the summer after you have confirmed your admission to UF. This is also where students will get to meet their academic advisors and sign up for classes.
