Dual Enrollment

In general, students can transfer up to 60 credit hours of community college credit as part of the hours needed for their UF degrees. These hours are subject to university and college degree requirements; the college will determine how transfer credit satisfies specific degree requirements.

High school students with community college coursework can also receive UF credit, where appropriate, regardless if that coursework also satisfied high school graduation requirements. Equivalent courses generally fulfill the same requirements (e.g. General Education) that the UF course fulfills. However, whether a course fulfills the UF Writing and Math Requirement is determined by specific criteria, not course number equivalency.

Freshman applicants with community college credits: Any student who has earned 12 or more semester hours of college credit following graduation from high school is considered a transfer applicant and cannot apply to UF as a freshman.

Credit from Florida public community colleges and state universities:

Courses at these institutions generally adhere to the statewide course numbering system and should have an equivalent UF course for transfer credit. Equivalent courses will generally fulfill the same requirements that the UF course fulfills.

Courses from private or out-of-state institutions:

College credit from private or out-of-state institutions will not transfer to UF if the course(s) completed were also used to satisfy high school graduation requirements. This course work may be eligible for transfer credit if the high school provides a written statement that the courses were not used to fulfill secondary graduation requirements. These courses will also need to be evaluated to determine if they satisfy UF degree requirements.

Students must submit official transcripts to the Office of Admissions before or during their enrollment at UF.
