More than 97 percent of our freshman students return their sophomore year, and 91 percent of our students graduate within six years.

Visa at UF consists of 18 sub-organizations representing cultures from across the globe. International applicants follow the same freshman application process as all other students. All freshmen receive equal, uniform holistic admissions review irrespective of their secondary curriculum origin or citizenship.

The Center for Undergraduate Research connects you with faculty mentors for hands-on, real-world learning. You can also work with faculty on their research through the Undergraduate Research Scholars Program.

Application Timeline:

  • AUG 8 Application opens. Complete the online application at admissions.ufl.edu.
  • NOV 1 Priority deadline for freshman application
  • NOV 15 Submit transcripts
  • DEC 1 Last day to submit test scores and academic credentials
  • FEB 24 Admission decision notification for priority applications
  • MAY 1 $200 tuition deposit deadline to confirm UF enrollment

Freshman Application Requirements:

English Proficiency

Applicants whose native language is not English are encouraged to submit a TOEFL (5812), IELTS or Duolingo English Test score for demonstrated English Proficiency. Score reports must be sent electronically directly from the testing agency.

Transcripts

Submit your secondary school transcripts in the native language and official word-for-word English translation. At least three years of coursework, including courses in-progress, are required for admissions. UF accepts for review electronic uploads by your college counselor to the Common Application or by individually uploading your documents to your application status page.

Submit Test Scores

Official SAT or ACT scores are required for admission to the University of Florida. Students may self-report their SAT or ACT test scores on their application status page or have them sent directly from the testing agency. School Code for SAT: 5812, ACT: 0758.
