Information Sessions

The University of Florida Office of Admissions virtual information sessions will give students and their family members a chance to learn more about our community and the opportunities that make UF a great college experience at an affordable price. The sessions will feature a presentation by one of our admissions officers with information about the University of Florida and our application process, followed by a live Q&A session.

Tours

As of August 6, 2021, everyone is expected to wear a mask at all times when inside any UF facility, even if you are vaccinated. This includes our students, faculty, staff, vendors and visitors.

Guided Campus Tour

The University of Florida Office of Admissions offers campus tours for prospective students at the Welcome Center located in the J. Wayne Reitz Student Union. Campus tours include a ninety-minute walking tour led by current students.

Self Guided Tour

UF’s self-guided tour showcases our campus and can be done conveniently. Download our self-guided tour through UF’s GatorWay app. The UF campus is open, and you should be able to gain insight into what life can be as a Florida Gator. Whether you are accessing this guide in Gainesville or around the globe, we are pleased that you have chosen to visit our campus virtually or by following along the stops highlighted on the tour. The UF campus is open, and you should be able to gain insight into what life can be as a Florida Gator.

If you are taking this tour while on campus, we suggest starting with the Reitz Union stop so that you may follow the route in the same order used in guided tours. The tour app provides photos and audio. If you are remote, feel free to choose where you would like to start.

Directions and Parking

The UF Welcome Center

Information sessions and student-led tours are offered the Welcome Center, located at 737 Reitz Union Drive, Gainesville, FL.

Parking

Visitors should park in all-day parking spots on the lowest level of the Welcome Center and University Bookstore garage. There is a $6.00 charge for the day. Operating hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The garage may be used during non-operating hours for short-term parking free of charge.

Driving Directions

From I-75

Take Exit 384 (SR 24/Archer Road) and head east on Archer Road for 2.6 miles to Gale Lemerand Drive.
Turn left onto Lemerand Drive for 1/2 mile to the light at Museum Road.
Turn right onto Museum Road for one block.
Turnleft into the UF Bookstore and Welcome Center's driveway.

From I-95

Heading south toward Jacksonville, take Exit 362B to merge onto I-295.
Take Exit 21B and merge onto I-10 West.
Take Exit 343 towards Starke and merge onto US 301 South.
Follow US-301S to NE State Road 24 (University Avenue)
Take a right on University Ave and follow it to the intersection of Gale
Lemerand Drive (football stadium will be on left).
Turn left onto Gale Lemerand and follow to 2nd traffic light, Museum Road.
Turn left onto Museum Road and travel east to Reitz Union Drive.
Turn left onto Reitz Union Drive and entrance to UF Bookstore and Welcome Center parking garage.

From US 441 (13th St) Southbound

Turn left onto University Avenue and travel East to intersection of Gale Lemerand Drive (football stadium will be on left).
Turn left onto Gale Lemerand and follow to 2nd traffic light, Museum Road.
Turn left onto Museum Road and travel east to Reitz Union Drive.
Turn left onto Reitz Union Drive and entrance to the UF Bookstore and Welcome Center parking garage.

From US 441 (13th St) Northbound

Turn left onto Archer Road and travel west to the intersection of Gale Lemerand Drive.
Turn right onto Gale Lemerand Drive for 1/2 mile to the light at Museum Road.
Turn right onto Museum Road for one block
Turn left onto Reitz Union Drive and entrance to the UF Bookstore and Welcome Center's parking garage.

From Gainesville Regional Airport

Exit the airport drive. Turn right on SR 222 (39th Avenue) for 4 miles to US 441 (13th Street).
Turn left on US 441 and travel south to the intersection of University Avenue.
Follow University Avenue to the intersection of Gale Lemerand Drive (football stadium will be on left).
Turn left onto Gale Lemerand and follow to 2nd traffic light, Museum Road.
Turn left onto Museum Road and travel east to Reitz Union Drive.
Turn left onto Reitz Union Drive and enter parking garage.

Flying to Gainesville

The Gainesville Regional Airport is served by two airlines and is located approximately five miles from campus.

Visitors may use taxi, Uber or Lyft to travel from the airport to campus. Prices vary based on the service used, time of day and number of passengers.

Bus Service

Greyhound provides bus service to Gainesville. Call 1-800-229-9424 or refer to Information and reservations.

The Gainesville Regional Transit Service (RTS) provides bus service throughout campus and the city of Gainesville. Buses are free to UF students.
